Sergei Rachmaninoff – Italian Polka

Originally written for piano four hands, this delightful miniature shows Rachmaninoff’s playful and humorous side. Built on a lively folk-like theme, the piece sparkles with rhythmic vitality, witty accents, and brilliant contrasts.

Despite its virtuosic flair, the Italian Polka maintains a lighthearted spirit throughout, charming the audience with its buoyant energy and joyful character. It is a perfect example of how elegance and humor can coexist in a compact and entertaining concert piece.

Franz Lehár – Gold und Silber (Waltz)

A sparkling Viennese waltz full of elegance and charm. Gold und Silber unfolds with sweeping lyrical melodies contrasted by lively, radiant passages that create a festive atmosphere. Lehár’s refined sense of orchestral color and graceful dance rhythm make this piece both sophisticated and immediately appealing to audiences.

Ennio Morricone – Cinema Paradiso (Love Theme)

Composed in 1988 for the film Cinema Paradiso, this deeply nostalgic Love Theme has become one of Morricone’s most beloved melodies. Warm, flowing lines and a simple yet profoundly expressive harmonic language create an atmosphere of tenderness, longing, and timeless beauty.

Part of the theme was developed in collaboration with his son, Andrea Morricone, adding an intimate generational dimension to the music. Following the film’s international success — including the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1990 — the Love Theme gained worldwide recognition and remains one of Morricone’s most frequently performed concert pieces.
